1928A $5.00 FRN “GUTTER-FOLD”

FR-1951-F 1928A Series Five Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the Atlanta District. F11711916A. A gutter fold error that strikes from the top right side corner to the bottom of the note. Rather large gutter while opened. A conversational error note. In wow. Third party graded P.M.G #35 No-comments on the holder. Nearly extra fine grade. One of the most dramatic gutter folds for a 28 series.

 

Rare to come across yes. You would figure on seeing these more often. Not the case. Usa Rare has sold 4 of these in the last 27 years on 28 series FRNS. They do not come up for sale often. Recently we have acquired a small collection of them. Just think of some of the first Federal Reserve notes being offered with paper flaws on the sheets.
