1928A $20.00 FRN “GUTTER-FOLD”

FR-2051-J 1928A Series Twenty Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the Kansas City District. J02684568A. A gutter fold error that strikes from the right side and down to the corner of the note. Almost looks like a butterfly error. Third party graded P.M.G #30 No-comments on the holder. Very fine to extra fine grade.

 

Rare to come across yes. You would figure on seeing these more often. Not the case. Usa Rare has sold 4 of these in the last 27 years on 28 series FRNS. They do not come up for sale often. Recently we have acquired a small collection of them. Just think of some of the first Federal Reserve notes being offered with paper flaws on the sheets.
