1928 $20.00 FRN “GUTTER-FOLD”

FR-2050-D 1928 Series Twenty Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the Cleveland District. D03453591A. A gutter fold error that strikes from the top to the bottom of the note. Third party graded P.M.G #35 No-comments on the holder. A high end very fine graded note, just missing extra fine status. Lovely note.

 

Rare to come across yes. You would figure on seeing these more often. Not the case. Usa Rare has sold 4 of these in the last 27 years on 28 series FRNS. They do not come up for sale often. Recently we have acquired a small collection of them. Just think of some of the first Federal Reserve notes being offered with paper flaws on the sheets.
