Description

Fr-1905 #2 1969B Series One Dollar Federal Reserve notes coming from the San Francisco District. What makes this pair so crazy tuff to complete? SOLID 9’S. Let’s start there. Why? Serial #1 notes are printed on each block run, today they continue to be printed. They escape the Bureau of Engraving and Printing in bricks that are shipped out. Of course, their tuff to come across. Today, most of the first few sheets are pulled as test sheets, to make sure over-inking, alignment, press operations, and quality control is in place. Not to say this is each and every time. Any first Serial #1 Suffix #A Sheets are automatically pulled and archived.

But a solid 9’s on a $1.00 FRN. You’re looking at just #1 of a baker’s dozen that were put into a pack and shipped out and possibly landed at your local bank. Correct. 1963-1977A. These notes prior to the 1981 Series were printed and put out in the wild. Prints runs hit 99999999. Unlike after the 1977a series, there were then just 96000000. Solid 9’s are in demand to own, especially if you are trying to put together a $1.00 Solid serial number set 11111111-88888888. You are missing the nines. Solid nines are not printed today. Zero have been seen in a pack of notes since 1977A. Only specially made 1999 Premium sets, and three 2003 Series uncut sheets have exited the BEP by mistake.

The solid nines L99999999A were third-party graded Gem Uncirculated by P.M.G #65EPQ with exceptional paper quality. The note that makes this more dynamite than it already is. The next block run printed L-B.  L00000001B. A pack was found with the very next block run. Serial #1, making this a “TRUE” rollover set. All eight digits are in place.99999999/00000001 The last of the block run and the very next first block run. This serial one note was third-party graded by P.M.G #64 no qualifier was added to the note, and no comments on the holder.

Again, one of the #11 $1.00 FRN’S that were released into pack-form containing the solid 9’s.  An Ultra rare roll-over set.
