1928 $5.00 FRN “GUTTER-FOLD”

FR-1950-D 1928 Series Five Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the Cleveland District. D07202934A. A gutter fold error strikes from the bottom left-side corner to the bottom of the note. Decent size gutter while opened. Custom holder by P.M.G for this error. Third party graded P.M.G #35EPQ. Very fine to Extra fine graded example. Exceptional paper quality added to the holder. 

 

Rare to come across yes. You would figure on seeing these more often. Not the case. Usa Rare has sold 4 of these in the last 27 years on 28 series FRNS. They do not come up for sale often. Recently we have acquired a small collection of them. Just think of some of the first Federal Reserve notes being offered with paper flaws on the sheets.
