1902 Series Ten Dollar THE UNION NATIONAL BANK OF SOUDERTON PENNSYLVANIA
CHARTER #2333
The town was originally named Welsh-town because it was settled by the Welsh. Souderton is prefigured in a map of 1847 as Souder’s Lumberyard, and the new name was certainly in place by the railroad era in the second half of the 19th century. The name comes from town resident Henry O. Souder and his store near the railroad.
1902 Series Plain Back. Nice pen signatures for this bank. We graded it Very fine Plus. This note is one of just #22 Total known on all large size. A popular Montgomery County collected National.
