Description
FR-2093-L SOI PRESS 2006 Series Twenty Dollar Federal Reserve note from the San Francisco District. A two-digit radar serial number with just zeros and nines in the serial number. IL09000090E. A very high graded P.C.G.S #69PPQ Superb Gem Uncirculated with premium paper quality. Just one point from being 100 percent perfect. A very hard grade to come by. This note we are offering is just not a normal serial number here on a $20. The highest graded by both third-party grading services. Two points higher with P.C.G.S. A total of just #6 graded between both services.
We sold two #70Q grades from the website in the last four years. One was a 2-digit radar on a 66000066-$100, the other was a low serial 00001234. Both of these surpassing $5000.00 EACH, in public auction 70Q grades have made their way from $4000 to $9000.00 for just one note “with a normal serial number”.
We have placed about a dozen graded 69Q’s over the last Fifteen Years that P.C.G.S & P.M.G third party services opened their doors. This note is a standout, total rock-star note.

In the summer of 2008, the BEP’s Washington, DC facility began to print $20 notes on the new Super Orlof Intaglio (SOI) presses; the Fort Worth facility followed a number of years later. The SOI presses are capable of processing 50-subject sheets, but at the moment, the $20’s are still being printed in 32-subject format. The $20 notes printed on the SOI presses can be distinguished by their oversized face plate numbers, which appear similar to the back plate numbers used on Fort Worth plates. Note that while other denominations have been printed on the SOI presses, for some reason only the $20’s have used the enlarged face plate numbers.
