Description
Fr-1601 1928 Series One Dollar Silver Certificate bearing one of the lowest IF, not the lowest serial numbered STAR to come to light. Serial #45 STAR. After nearly thirty years of dealing in special serial numbers, I have not come to anything this low with a star next to it for the 1928 $1 Silver Certificate star series. I’ve sat in on the A00000012A from the first sheet printed at stacks in 1991. Sold the third sheet uncut of #12 serial #25-36 years ago here on the site out of the Mellon personal collection. But a replacement star note, just have not come across any. For anyone that collects low serial numbered star notes, it stands out as a trophy note. Or more of a conversational note by far. Third-party graded P.MG #58. Choice About Uncirculated. No qualifier added to the holder, but yet no comments. Centered nice, paper, and bold inks for a 1928 series note coming off the press so early in the print run. An all-around STAR that’s for sure.
