1996 $50.00 FRN *INVERTED 3RD-PRINT* 67Q

FR-2126-L 1996 Series Fifty Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the San Fransisco District. (3) Consecutive notes. With the note in the middle having an inverted over-print. A rare error to come about. Just under a half dozen to exist on this First-generation BIG HEAD series $50.00’s. Offered here is one of the highest graded examples offered. A 67PPQ. Big head series $50.00’s have disappeared from the marketplace. There has not been ONE type error to come about for nearly a decade. The last big head series type error on a “$50.00” was a 2004 Series . An over-print on the reverse. Which brought $7000.00 in early 2022 in auction.  New LEPE press machines have cornered the market on mistakes. There non fault rate is at 95 percent. Making new series errors  NO MORE.

Mismatches, cutting errors seem to be in the spotlight as of now for new series notes. This bookend set was found in a pack. A shown you can see serial #97-98-99. A one of a kind set for this series.
