Description
FR-2175-B 1996 Series $100.00 Federal Reserve note coming from the New York District. A rather large obstruction of sizing paper landed onto the sheet after the second printing (face printing) this is where the black seal was applied with the face printing on 1st Generation $100’s. “”ONLY””. This obstruction…sizing paper was then carried into the over-print stage…. seals and serial numbers, then processed into the cutting arena and was BEP banded and sent off as serial ending #28 inside the pack where it was found by perhaps a Bank Teller. It was stapled to be sent back for credit *as a mistake*. At that point it was taken……… then found its way here. But it got graded first, third party graded P.M.G #55 Choice About Uncirculated. Inside a custom holder. There are two sets of staple holes, and a teller pen initials on the note. I’ve seen only a few two-piece obstruction error notes on $100.00’s from 1928 to present, this is the first for a “Big Head $100.00” I have not seen anything close in size such as this one covering 85 percent of the note. Let alone such a high denomination powerhouse error this is.
*In 2007 we sold a 3×5 card printed on a $1.00 FRN STAR for $12,000.00.
