Description
Fr-1962-B 1950A Series Five Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the New York District. An #18 Subject sheet that somewhere along the way had a piece a thread stuck to it after the Face printing, “second print was applied”. This thread is embedded into the paper. It stretches from one end of the note across the bottom of the note a few times. Was this a piece of thread that came from a BEP employee uniform? Who knows? What we do know is…. this thread is NOT part of the printing process but an outside product that was brought into the printing room and landed on a sheet during printing operations. There are green ink specs on the thread from the overprint……it’s also attached to the paper. Band-aid, spear mint gum wrapper, cigarette wrapper…. and of course, Del-Monte Banana note sticker. These products were brought into the BEP and left onto a sheet and into a pack, just like this one. So not as dramatic as some…… But still an authenticated Third-party P.M.G #64 Choice Uncirculated note that was captured inside of a pack. It’s also noted on the holder “retained thread attached”. Note has great embossing, sharp corners, matching B-B block. A unique error offering.
