FR-2131-B 2009 Series Fifty Dollar Federal Reserve note coming from the New York District. A very rare encountered cutting error on a “BIG HEAD COLORIZED FIFTY”. One whole $50.00 PLUS another 1/4 of the sheet left attached. This sheet got caught ill-regularly fed into the press making it jam up. The jammed-up section was pulled in, making the opposite side longer. Not common on larger denominations such as a $50.00. Not what the BEP wants to see get out to the public as their “Quality Control” has been pushing upwards on not letting errors escape such as this one in this day of age. This note has two sets of serial numbers from the sheet, it’s third-party graded and authenticated by P.C.G.S #63PPQ, Choice uncirculated with the added qualifier. Pure paper quality.
An exciting error note that just doesn’t show up in the spectrum of currency collecting often.
