Description
FR-2100-D 1928 Series Fifty Dollar Federal Reserve Note from the Cleveland District. Subject sheets for the 1928 Series were printed on #12 notes per sheet. Making this example from the 2nd SHEET PRINTED. Coming from the last note on the second sheet….. What makes this one so rare? Not just serial #25? No way, seeing an uncirculated example on a Denomination that was not saved or collected as much as $5-10-$20’s. Fifties and Hundred-Dollar Denominations were not popular enough to collect compared to the other lower Denominations? Why? The Denomination was too expensive……. The majority of the $50-$100 LOW SERIAL numbers for the 1928 Series are CIRCULATED.
Even so I have not seen another uncirculated example from ANY district printed. You will find them on stars…. There are well over a dozen known.
NON star?…. Let’s just say there’s not much out there…. T/P list no others. I cannot say no others exist; however, I have been in the field of buying and selling fancies for the past three decades. My assumption is next to zero.
Third-party graded P.M.G #64EPQ Choice Uncirculated with exceptional paper quality. Dark face print, white paper with a sharp overprint for the first series of small size. It’s uncirculated, making it quite rare on a $50.00. Cannot stress the rarity here. Great note!
