Description
FR-1601 1928 Series Twenty Dollar Gold Certificate with a gutter fold proceeding on both sides of the note. Authenticated by a P.M.G, graded 45. It is a bright-looking note, with sharp corners, centered nicely in this holder. Errors on small-size gold certificates are very difficult to come by. We have bought and sold a few missing the third prints, missed out on an inverted reverse, and mismatched serial numbers. But we have sold a remarkable gutter quite some time ago…. and that was the last one we offered. This note was at least a 1/2 inch thick (blank) across the front of the note. It was sold here on the website. We purchased the note from Peter Tregila of Stack’s, when he was a currency dealer on his own more than twenty years ago. These Gold Certificate errors do not come up often.
