Description
Fr‑2088‑F — 2001 Series Twenty Dollar Federal Reserve Note from the Richmond District, serial CE62091936B. This issue represents the first‑generation “Big Head” Next‑Generation $20 FRN, produced across the 1996, 1999, and 2001 series before the major redesign debuted with the 2004 colorized notes. This example carries an impressive large double foldover error, positioned almost through the center of the note. Because of the fold, the overprint lands far off the note, creating a dramatic and highly visual error — especially desirable on a Big‑Head $20, where major production mistakes are far less common. Graded PCGS 40PPQ Extra Fine, it retains premium paper quality with clean surfaces and no distracting marks. Although it was pulled from circulation, the note presents far better than the assigned grade suggests, with strong eye appeal and excellent originality. A bold, visually striking error on a popular transitional‑era design — the kind of piece that stands out immediately in any modern error collection.
